SUMMARY ANNUAL REPORT FOR 

SHEET METAL WORKERS' LOCAL 73 WELFARE FUND - APRIL 8TH, 2020

 

This is a summary of the annual report for Sheet Metal Workers' Local 73 Welfare Fund EIN 36-2145881, for the year ended June 30, 2019. The annual report has been filed with the Employee Benefit Security Administration, as required under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).

The Fund has committed itself to pay certain weekly disability and comprehensive major medical and prescription drug claims incurred under the terms of the plan. 

Insurance Information

The Plan has a contract with HCC Life Insurance Company to pay stop loss benefits under the terms of the Plan. The total premiums paid for the policy year ending December 31, 2018 were $148,734.

Basic Financial Statement

The value of plan assets, after subtracting liabilities of the plan, was $101,025,518 as of June 30, 2019 compared to $100,661,955 as of July 1, 2018. During the plan year, the plan experienced as increase in its net assets of $363,563. This increase included unrealized appreciation or depreciation in the value of plan assets; that is, the difference between the value of  the plan's assets at the end of the year and the value of the assets at the beginning of the year or the cost of assets acquired during the year. During the plan year, the plan had total income of $60,596,261 including (but not limited to) employer contributions of $5,823,691, other contributions of $42,792, realized gain of $749,435 from the sale of assets and earnings from investments of $3,229,910.

Plan expenses were $60,232,698. These expenses included $3,167,129 in administrative expenses and $57,065,569 in benefits paid to participants and beneficiaries.

an accountant's report;

insurance information including sales commissions paid by insurance carriers;

financial information and information of payments to service providers;

assets held for investment; and

transactions in excess of 5 percent of plan assets.

If you request a copy of the full annual report from the plan administrative manager, these two statements and accompanying notes will be included as part of that report. The charge to cover the copying costs given above does not include a charge for the copying of these portions of the report because these portions are furnished without charge.
