This Plan complies with the Federal law regarding special enrollment procedures, as follows. With the exception for a spouse’s deferral of coverage explained in Deferring Coverage for Spouse or Surviving Spouse, if you are a Non-Medicare Eligible Retiree who is participating in the Plan, and you have a new Dependent as a result of marriage, birth, adoption, or placement for adoption, you may enroll the new Dependent in the Plan. However, you must request enrollment of the Dependent within 30 days after the date you acquire the Dependent.
