Becoming a Participant

Employees who perform work for Employers under collective bargaining agreements or other written
agreements with the Union are covered by the Plan if contributions for their work are required to be paid to the Fund.

Generally, you become a participant on the first January 1 or July 1 after you complete 870 hours of work in Covered Employment in a consecutive 12-month period for an Employer under the Plan.
