Required Beginning Date

As of April 1, 1988, this date is the April 1 of the Calendar Year following the Calendar Year in which you reach age 70½. However, if you reached age 70½ before 1988, your Required Beginning Date is
April 1 of the Calendar Year in which you stopped work in Covered Employment, if that is later.
